A long journey starts today…

A long journey starts today! Due to a medical problem with my knee, I decided to take the Indian Roadmaster that for, even when most advices of my real and my virtual friends suggested to take the BMW R 1200 GS!
Let’s see how it goes!

Brockenstube Brünigpass

The first part was short. From my home (I started late, after having lunch with friends from NYC & DomRep) near Interlaken, over Brünigpass and the highways via Hirzelpass to Trimmis near Chur!
Normally I would take the road over the passes (Sustenpass & Oberalppass), but since I started late, I decided to take the faster way.
Here in Trimmis I’m staying with my friend Werner and his really great & talented and very well behaved sons and his really nice & friendly father! Werner and I met 1994 by accident in Alice Springs/Australia! Since then we never lost our friendship!

Tomorrow morning I will head towards Munich, Vienna & Budapest! Lets see how far I will make it! Hope I can visit Budapest – a city I always wanted to explore but never did.
Are there friends/readers/followers that are from or just are familiar with Budapest? Any recommendations in & around Budapest?

Your help & advices are warmly welcome!

Especially I need a secure place for my Indian Motorcycle!

Do you realize that this is the very path that goes through Mirkwood, and that if you let it, it might take you to the Lonely Mountain or even further and to worse places?”
